About Us

The Rancho Cucamonga Marching Cougars (RCMC) is more than just a band—it's a family of passionate student performers dedicated to music, growth, and making unforgettable memories together. And it's not just about the performances—being part of this program helps students build leadership, time management skills, teamwork, and lifelong friendships.

Since 1992, RCMC has been proudly representing Rancho Cucamonga High School (RCHS) with high-energy performances, award-winning shows, and a strong tradition of teamwork, discipline, and school spirit.

We’re based in Rancho Cucamonga, a vibrant Southern California city known for its family-friendly community, rich blends of culture, and scenic beauty. RCHS is part of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, which is committed to supporting student success in and out of the classroom.

The impact of our program often extends well past high school, with graduating members continuing to explore music as performers, enthusiasts, educators, or patrons.

Mission Statement

The Rancho Cucamonga Marching Cougars pledges to reach a superior standard in musical and visual performance through mutual trust, respect, and self-discipline, while fostering an atmosphere of confidence, dedication, and maturity.

Each individual will have the opportunity to apply personal strengths and develop character, thereby growing both as a musician and as a young adult.

Performers will cultivate lasting friendships and uphold an exemplary image on and off the field through shared passion, motivation, and pride.

Our goal is to use band and color guard as tools to help our students become better people.

Our Goals

Music Education: To educate students in the core curriculum of the arts—most notably music and dance—by mastering basic technique, fundamental knowledge, and self-expression.

Cultural Appreciation: To develop an understanding and appreciation of the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of musical styles and genres, and their impact on society—past, present, and future.

Learn to Grow: To provide a healthy, nurturing learning environment with ample opportunities for public performance, fostering self-discipline, pride, and teamwork within the instrumental music student community.

Embrace Experiences:  To encourage performers to cultivate lasting friendships and uphold an exemplary image on and off the field through shared passion, motivation, and integrity.
