Color Guard Technician

Thalia Ortega is a 23 year old from Riverside, California. She found her passion for color guard early on, marching with the Rancho Cucamonga High School Marching Cougars. After marching both field and winter seasons from 2010-2014, she then had the privilege of marching in “World Class” with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps for the summers of ‘14, ‘15, and ‘18. Coming back from tour, she continued to march with RCC Marching Tigers for the fall seasons of ‘14 and ‘15. She then got a spot for marching in world class again for the winter season of ‘15 with Fantasia.

In the fall of 2016 she started her coaching career teaching at her alma mater, Rancho Cucamonga HS, recent WGI “Scholastic A Class” finalists, and has been working there ever since. She is currently working at 3 more schools including: Serrano Intermediate, newly promoted to “Scholastic A Class”, El Toro HS, and Ayala HS. In the summer following her age-out, she taught the 2019 cast of Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps entitled, “Everglow”, and has continued on as Guard Staff since.

 

Thalia is also licensed in the state of California for Life, Auto, and Home Insurance under her Mother and business partner’s insurance agency and is currently working to expand her mother’s business.
